The Hooper Accountants Toowoomba International is a professional tennis tournament hosted by the Toowoomba Tennis Association that is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour.

 

Held at the Toowoomba Regional Tennis Centre – USQ the event provides opportunities for the world’s rising tennis stars to compete for prize money and all important World Ranking Points. Since the inaugural event in 2012 the Hooper Accountants Toowoomba International has grown significantly in a very short period of time with the event already cemented into Toowoomba’s calendar as one of the region’s most significant sporting events.

 

In 2013 the tournament effectively doubled in size with a Women’s Draw added to the event schedule. In addition to this a substantial community engagement plan was implemented which saw a range of tennis themed activities, promotional events and corporate/VIP hospitality functions delivered throughout the week.

 

These efforts in making the Hooper Accountants Toowoomba International an event for the entire community received the highest recognition when the event was awarded the 2013 Newcombe Medal, Australian Tennis Award, as the Most Outstanding Tournament of the Year.

 

Receiving such a prestigious award in only its second year was as major coup for the event and confirmed its future potential. This potential was further highlighted when the 2014 tournament was presented with the same award.

From a state perspective the Hooper Accountants Toowoomba International is also highly regarded having been awarded the title of Tennis Queensland's Most Outstanding Professional Tournament of the Year in 2013, 14, 15, 16 and 17.
